Coffee Myth

The Myth of Resetting your Nose with Coffee
Some believe snorting coffee beans in-between testing perfumes helps clear one's sense of smell. Being in existence for ages, such a practice is quite an old wives' tale. While coffee has a strong smell, it does not neutralize prior perfumes. Instead, there is one more odor for your brain to process, which can make it truly worse to distinguish new scents from existing ones.
The best thing for your sense of smell is simply to take a break and inhale neutral air. Walking away from the perfume counter or just outside gives your receptors some time to recover naturally, allowing a more favorable appreciation of every new scent you experience.

The next time you test multiple fragrances, forgot the coffee beans for a nose-necessary rest.
